PALS AHA & Pediatric Training of Trainers (ToT)

RSUP Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah, Bali

The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Training of Trainers (ToT) at RSUP Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah, Bali, represents an important initiative in strengthening the capacity of healthcare professionals to become effective trainers in pediatric emergency care.

Organized as part of the EMPC Program Hospital Training under IsDB Project IDN: 1031, the program focuses on developing healthcare professionals who are not only clinically competent but also capable of transferring their knowledge and practical expertise to fellow healthcare providers.

Unlike conventional PALS training, the Training of Trainers program places greater emphasis on instructional competencies, effective communication, and the ability to facilitate structured learning experiences.

Developing Clinical Experts into Effective Trainers

The program introduces participants to the essential responsibilities of a trainer, highlighting the importance of combining clinical expertise with effective teaching and facilitation skills.

Through interactive discussions, guided learning activities, and practical exercises, participants explore approaches to delivering training materials, explaining complex clinical concepts, and creating an engaging learning environment.

The sessions also emphasize the importance of clear communication, constructive feedback, and the ability to guide fellow healthcare professionals through practical learning activities.

Strengthening Teaching and Facilitation Skills

A key focus of the PALS ToT program is preparing participants to communicate essential pediatric emergency care principles in a structured and accessible manner.

The learning process encourages participants to strengthen their confidence in presenting training materials, facilitating discussions, and supporting practical skills development.

Beyond individual competencies, the program highlights the importance of teamwork and collaboration in delivering consistent, high-quality healthcare training.

By strengthening both technical understanding and instructional capabilities, participants are better equipped to contribute to future learning activities within their respective healthcare institutions.

Building Sustainable Training Capacity

The PALS Training of Trainers reflects a broader commitment to establishing sustainable professional development within hospital environments.

Developing internal training capacity enables healthcare institutions to strengthen knowledge-sharing practices, support continuous learning, and maintain essential emergency response competencies among healthcare personnel.

Through this approach, the benefits of the program are intended to extend beyond the immediate participants, supporting a wider network of healthcare professionals involved in pediatric emergency services.

Advancing Healthcare Education Through Collaboration

The implementation of the PALS Training of Trainers (ToT) at RSUP Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah demonstrates the continued commitment of EMPC – PT Meridian Kreatama Mandiri, together with its project partners and participating healthcare institutions, to strengthening healthcare workforce development in Indonesia.

As part of IsDB Project IDN: 1031, the initiative supports the development of a more capable, knowledgeable, and collaborative healthcare workforce through structured education and professional capacity building.

By empowering healthcare professionals to become effective educators, the program contributes to a sustainable culture of learning, where clinical knowledge and essential emergency care skills can be continuously shared and developed.

Strengthening one trainer means creating opportunities to empower many more healthcare professionals, building a lasting foundation for safer and more effective pediatric emergency care.
